Martin Hairer developed a mathematical theory for Singular Stochastic Partial Differential Equations, so that the physical solutions make sense, called Theory of Regularity of Structures. This allows stochastic modeling of various mechanisms in science and engineering.
Hairer is currently a Professor at Imperial College London, a Fellow of the Royal Society and a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society.
Martin Hairer received the Fields Medal in 2014 in addition to many other honors and awards.
Hairer will present a mini-course about Progress on Yang-Mills at FAPESP's School of Advanced Sciences on Partial Stochastic Equations that will take place from August 2 to 13, 2022.
