The Workshop on Dynamical Systems (“Oficina de Sistemas Dinâmicos – OSD”) is a well-established event recognized by the Brazilian scientific community in the fields of Dynamical Systems / Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations. The workshop has been held annually since its inception in 2009, initiated by professors Carlos Gutierrez, Jorge Sotomayor, and Marco Antonio Teixeira.
Since then, the event has taken place at various higher education institutions across Brazil: IMECC-UNICAMP (2009, 2010, 2014 and 2024), IME-UFG (2011 and 2016), IME-USP (2012), UNESP-Presidente Prudente (2013), UNIFEI-Itajubá (2015), UFABC (2017), ICMC-USP and DM-UFSCar (2019), FFCLRP-USP (2022), and IBILCE-UNESP (2023). In 2020 and 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the OSD was held as virtual editions. In 2018, there was no edition of OSD due to the ICM being held in Brazil.
This workshop brings together researchers and graduate students (master’s and doctoral levels) from various research groups in Dynamical Systems across Brazil, as well as international participants.
The event aims to foster and strengthen a permanent and productive connection among young researchers, students, and established experts in the field. It serves as a platform for discussing cutting-edge issues related to ODEs and Dynamical Systems, such as bifurcations, polynomial vector fields, differential equations, geometry and singularities, topological methods in dynamical systems, discontinuous differential systems, reversible systems, geometric theory of singular perturbations, and other related topics. Many Brazilian researchers in these fields delivered their first talks at the OSD.
