Thanks for your visit! I'm professor of mathematical physics at the
department of applied mathematics in the Institute of Mathematics,
Statistics and Scientific Computing (IMECC) at the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). I was born in Pirassununga, SP. I did my BSc (1987) and MSc (1990)
degrees in physics at the Physics Institute (IF)
of
the University of São Paulo (USP)
and received my PhD (1993) degree in applied mathematics from
IMECC-UNICAMP. I was a visiting researcher at Syracuse University (SU) (1996-1997), USA.
I defended my habilitation thesis in 1999. I was head of the
department of applied mathematics during 2005-2006 and director of
IMECC during 2006-2010. In 2017-2018 I was a visiting
professor at the University of Waterloo (UW),
